CONVENTION REPORT, Day #3

Don't worry, you didn't miss Day 2.  We were just busy from sun up to sunset and then we crashed!  I'm just going to share last night for now.  Cards will have to come later.

Last night was the Awards Ceremony which, to me, is something not to miss.  I keep thinking that SOMEday I might be called for something!  After the Awards came our convention entertainment:

Tonic Sol-Fa is an a capella quarter who create their own percussion etc.  Yes, I purchased their latest album which I'll share at stamping events.  You can check them out on their website here.  Click on the circle.

Their encore rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner" was breathtaking!  Brought tears to my eyes.

I hope the pace here gives me time tomorrow to get some card swaps shared.  I've received some real goodies.

Sorry to dash so fast, but we're off to the convention center for a group session, then classes and make 'n' takes this afternoon.

I'M IN SALT LAKE CITY: Convention Report, Day -1

When you see this logo over the next several days, it will be an update of some sort from Stampin' Up!'s Convention here in Salt Lake City.  Or perhaps some card or display sample without any real 'news' update.  I think it's a cool way to say "Hey, check this out" though.

My roommate, Sue (from Danville, Indiana), and I strolled over to the convention center while waiting for the hotel room to be readied and met some other stampers (from Southern CA) who took our FIRST CONVENTION PHOTO just outside the Salt Palace (Convention Center).  The theme for the convention is

INSPIRE. CREATE. SHARE.

So, Sue and I are adorning the "CREATE" banner.

We found our third roommate, Katie, from (upstate) Kingston, New York, after this photo session, sitting in the hotel lobby waiting for our room to be ready.

Convention roommates often exchange 'roomie' gifts and here are ours....minus roommate #4, Judi, who arrives tomorrow afternoon:

Sue brought the cool bags filled with goodies.  I brought the large envelopes with our bags tags inside (photo of the tags tomorrow), and Katie brought the great clipboards.

 

 

  

 

So now, it's 9.30 and we're all done for the day.  We flew in from various directions and that just wore us out.  Tomorrow we get our convention bags at 9 a.m.  Then we'll 'hit' Memento Mall to purchase some Stampin' Up! souveniers.  Katie and Sue will go off to Riverton, Stampin' Up!'s home office and distribution center, with the new friends we met today (they took the "Create" photo).  That's Pat and Vonda from Southern California. 

I'll tell you---coming to Convention and meeting new friends, swapping cards and ideas, getting new ideas, getting FREE stamp sets, doing Make & Takes that you didn't have to precut all the paper for.........what could be better!?

I look forward to sharing more with you tomorrow evening.  PS We ate at J.Wong's Asian Bistro tonight.  Yum yum yum!  163 W. 200 S., 1-1/2 blocks from our hotel.
