Are you ready to attack the Waterfall Card? This one is actually quite easy. There's a bit of prep in cutting your card stocks and initial scoring but once your card stock is cut it's just a quick job of assembly. Here we go:
Here's the card:
Stamp Set: Winter Post
Card Stock: Brocade Blue, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Soft Suede*
Ink: Brocade Blue, Old Olive, Basic Brown
Accessories: Red Sticky Tape, Scoring Tool, Ruler, Blender Pen, Old Olive 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon, 1/2" Soft Suede Polka-Dot Grosgrain ribbon, stapler
Cut a piece of Soft Suede card stock to 2-3/4" x 11". Along the 11" edge, score and fold well at 3-1/4", 3-5/8", 4", 4-3/8", 4-3/4", 5-1/8", and 10-3/8".
Cut a piece of Brocade Blue card stock to 8-1/2" x 2-1/2". Score along the 8-1/2" edge at 2-1/2" and 5-1/2". Fold well along the score lines.
Apply Snail adhesive to the center panel of the Brocade Blue card stock.
Adhere the shorter panel of the Soft Suede card stock (without the 1/2" scored line at the end) to the center panel of the making sure that the bottom edge of the Soft Suede is flush with the edge of the Brocade Blue cs.
Fold the Brocade Blue flaps over, longer one first, then the shorter. Lift the shorter one, apply Snail adhesive and lay back on top of the other.
Position the layered pieces so that the Brocade Blue piece's seam is 'up'. Fold the end of the long flap of the Soft Suede into and through the Brocade Blue sleeve, letting the 1/2" fold peak out from the bottom of the Brocade Blue sleeve. Set aside.
Cut 2 pieces of Old Olive and 3 pieces of Brocade Blue to 3" x 2-1/4".
Cut 3 pieces of Old Olive and 2 pieces of Brocade Blue to 3-1/4" x 2-1/2".
Layer the pieces of card stock.
Stamp tops of layers, using Old Olive ink, randomly with snowflake image.
Cut a piece of Very Vanilla CS to 1-1/2" x 2-3/4". Stamp with Santa Post image using Chocolate Chip ink. Sponge edges with Brocade Blue ink. Set aside.
Apply Sticky Strip to each of the top 5 scored sections of the Soft Suede card stock. Pull the backing off the sticky strip and and attach the cards, alternating colors, onto the scored sections, making sure they are flush on the side edges with each other and along the upper score lines. I started with the bottom sticky strip and worked my way "up".
Cut the piece of Soft Suede Polka-Dot ribbon to 7". Cut the piece of Old Olive Grosgrain to 9".
Apply Snail adhesive to the back of the entire length of Soft Suede Ribbon. HINT: I start at the center and apply Snail to one end, then turn the ribbon, go back to the center and apply Snail to the other end. Wrap around sleeve, overlapping ends on the back side.
Wrap the Brocade Blue grosgrain ribbon around the card stock, on top of the Soft Suede ribbon, and secure on the front with a knot. Trim ends.
Cut a 2" piece of Soft Suede ribbon, place about 1/4" of Snail adhesive at both ends, and fold over the 1/2" tab at the end of the Soft Suede card stock. Secure with a staple.
Stamp, using Basic Brown ink, the remaining images on pieces of Very Vanilla card stock. Sponge all edges with Brocade Blue.
Skaters: Very Vanilla: 2" x 2-1/8", color Skaters in using Blender Pen and Brocade Blue ink.
Deer: Very Vanilla: 1-1/2" x 2", stamp in Basic Brown
Do not open: Very Vanilla: 2" x 1-3/4", stamp in Basic Brown
Warmest Greetings......stamp directly on the Old Olive card stock using Basic Brown ink.
Randomly stamp snowflakes, using Basic Brown ink, on the 'pull' piece of Soft Suede cardstock.
Attach, using Dimensionals, the Santa Post stamped piece that you set aside a few steps ago to the top of the waterfall. When you attach the next pieces to the card place them as close to the upper seam line as you can. I didn't (oops and smile) and some of them hang below the Brocade Blue and Old Olive flaps and it doesn't look too neat.
