My friend Kathy Chono-Herring, of Fresno CA, was unable to attend Stampin' Up!'s convention in July so she went to the great effort, seriously, of creating her own mini convention. As much as I wanted to attend her convention in her home, the month of August thought that was a crazy idea. And I didn't get to go. Finally, October 1st, I'm making her convention projects and we can all attend Kathy's convention together. It'll be a fun adventure.
First, our convention bag:
This great bag is thermal inside, great for a quick trip to the grocery store. My style for sure! And sure to get comments as well.
Similar flowers are also on our 'convention tee-shirts' which you'll see later in the week. They're ironed onto the bag (I think!) with 'stitch-witchery'. (Kathy did it and I'm sure she'll let me know.)
Project #1 is my name tag for my bag. All 8 attendees (remember little house, so 8 will be a perfect crowd) have identical convention bags:
We used the now-retired Island Oasis Designer Series Paper from the Summer Mini Catalog.
My TIP for today: when you're applying Anywhere Glue-Stick, place your paper/chip board on the page of a sales magazine and get the excess glue on the magazine page rather than your Grid Paper. You can just turn the page and have a fresh start for the next gluing and not ruin a piece of Designer Series Paper or cardstock when it sticks onto excess glue that would otherwise be on that Grid Paper.
My name, address and phone are on the flip side of my name tag.
So here's my Convention name tag and my matching bag tag. Pretty cool huh? The small-type words in the upper right corner are "Concord Grape", one of the winning door prize colors at Kathy's convention. Everyone won a door prize at this convention!
Tomorrow, project #2.
