This is my general convention swap card and I just love it (she says modestly!). It's also the last card I made before leaving for convention. I only made 24 of them because of lack of time. (In the past I've made as many as 400. Crazy woman!) The new "Under $10" Dasher stamp (p. 208) screamed at me when I first saw him: "Bring me to your house. Please!" He was on my first order from the new 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog.
- Cut pieces of the new Merry Moment Designer series paper to 5-1/2" x 2".
- Cut a piece of Old Olive card stock to 5-1/4" x 4", run it through the Big Shot Die Cut Machine using the Stampin' Up! Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plate. Cut in in half to 5-1/4" x 2".
- Adhere those two pieces to an 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of Chocolate Chip folded cardstock.
- Attach a 5-1/4" piece of the new 3/4" Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon.
- Tip: Run a strip of Snail Adhesive on each piece of cardstock/DSP right next to the seam where they meet. Then lay the ribbon on top of the Snail Adhesive. So much easier than trying to put the Snail on the back of the ribbon! I'm all for efficiency.
- Stamp 'Dasher', using Craft Chocolate Chip ink, onto Very Vanilla cardstock (2-1/4" x 2-3/4")
- Sprinkle with Clear Embossing Powder and heat emboss with Heat Tool.
- Layer 'Dasher' (I do just love him!) onto Real Red cardstock (2-3/8" x 2-7/8") and then onto Chocolate Chip cardstock (2-5/8" x 3-1/8")
- Attach to cardfront with 5 Dimensionals.
- Using the Wide Oval Punch, punch out a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock. Set aside.
- Stamp Merry Christmas (or certainly, a greeting of your choice) from the All Holidays stamp set on a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock using Real Red ink. Using the Scallop Oval Punch, align punch over greeting and punch it out.
- Final Step: attach to card using two Dimensionals.
- Oooops, I forgot: using the Two Way Glue Pen, I placed a little dot of glue on each of the two snowflakes in Dasher's antlers. Sprinkle with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and now you're done.
Reporting in from Salt Lake City, Utah...........have a great day!
