Scallop Circle Punch ideas

Oh, I'm so embarrassed!  I know I told you I'd have some samples up here on my blog using the Scallop Circle Punch.  Well, apparently I didn't take all the photos I thought I did, so they're not on my computer.  And I'm NOT at home where the projects are.......completed and ready to go.  So at least you can see parts of one project:

Snail Adhesive
Paper Snips

The next steps are to turn this piece over, secure the nuggets to the cardstock, tie the flaps up with some Bashful Blue Taffeta ribbon, and you'll almost be done.

On Board Chipboard is May's SU! Special

And my brother is my May special!

My brother Bob was 60 (I'm his older sister!) on May 14th and I wanted to make something special for him using a few old photographs that he's been wanting--and I had to find!   Our grandfather owned a grocery store, called Gassers,  in Duluth, Minnesota in the 20s and he had a small fleet of trucks.  Bob loves anything that moves on four wheels.  I had the photos, and, in order not to damage them at all, I had to figure out a way to present them.  Aha--the On Board Chipboard Clipboard!



In order to achieve the 'vintage' look I wanted, I chose to use a retired Simply Scrappin' Kit: Tickets & Tokens.  Then, since I didn't want to compromise these old photos, I made a "grid" using Twill Tape and Earth Elements Brads.  To be honest, I was out of the narrowest Twill Tape so.....I took some twill ribbon that I'd saved from a Pottery Barn gift, and carefully cut it in half lengthwise 3 times to get 1/4" strips.  I just wrapped it around the edges and secured it on the back with Red Sticky Tape.  I covered the back with blue cardstock from the SS Kit using the Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive.  I secured the crossings of the ribbon with Old Olive brads from the Earth Elements Brad selection.  They just barely go through the chipboard with enough to bend in the back to hold them secure.



I slipped the photos into our clear envelopes and simply tucked them under the ribbons.  My grandfather's writing was on the back of each photo, so I copied it onto Sahara Sand cardstock, smudged each one with Not Quite Navy classic ink  and attached them to the clipboard.  The completed clipboard is very simple but I knew my brother needed nothing more.  Was he surprised? Totally.  I saw tears in his crusty eyes!  He's very family sentimental -- a trait that I love (and share).
